How my legs felt after climbing up a mountain

I climbed Mt Ngarahoe ten days ago. It was tough work, one step forwards - two steps back kind of deal. But oh - it was beautiful! The view from that high is breathtaking.

It was part of a three day circuit of the Tongariro National Park. Can't express how much fun I had!
Have you ever had a bad experience tramping? Rainy weather? Wind/hail/hypothermai?

I didn't! I had perfect weather the whole time and am now so keen to do more tramping all over New Zealand. Top of the list is Abel Tasman.

Oh - and my legs feel terrible by the way. Every run I've been on since has been soooo painful!

Bikee

Do you ever feel locked in to one type of exercise? I want to start doing some more things other than running.

Organised and smug about it.

I ran to Uni today! I was extra organised and took a change of clothes/ uni books to uni yesterday so all i had to do this morning was roll out of bed, slip on running gear and run out the door!

It's annoying running beside all the slow-moving traffic. Although I can't say I was upset at having to stop at the pedestrian lights. That was quite nice.

8km and the Ideal

Ran 8km at the gym today, after signing up for another 12 month membership [my bank account cried].

I'm looking forward to a time when I can afford a nice ladies-only gym. AUT is great, but there a lots of boys there. Which is alright.

(But not really...)

Did I mention I've registered for round the bays race?

Because I did. Yay!

Mr. Bean almost killed me!

LOL I have to tell the story of how I got the giggles on the treadmill. Which - by the way - I do not recommend.

I jumped on the treadmill and ran 7.2km. About the half hour mark I started to get tired, and this was the point where Johnny English in the movie gets drugged and has to do whatever people tell him to. There was something about seeing a grown man put on lipstick and then wave his hands in the air, moving them side to side that was just HILARIOUS.

I couldn't stop giggling and it was quite embarrassing for me and I expect unnerving for everyone around me. They must have been watching the sports channel or the news because if they were seeing what I was seeing we'd be a giggling choir.

Seriously, have you seen that movie? You need to watch it. If you don't laugh, jump on a treadmill and then watch it.

Byebye Bay

It's my last day at home before I head up to Auckland. I am sad to go, home is lovely. This summer has been awesome. I went Kayaking yesterday! Stoked.

But I'm looking forward to seeing my favourite Auckland people and places.

Went for a run in the heat at noon today. It was very warm, I must say. Very warm indeed.

Planning an evening bike to the beach tonight. =)
